Terms of Use

Magic Dock is a Mac app that adds a Dock with widgets and themes. It is sold as a lifetime license, for a single payment, or as a monthly subscription. Prices and currency are shown before purchase and must match the checkout.

You may use the Services only in compliance with applicable law and these Terms. You are responsible for the devices, operating system, internet connection, and backups necessary to use the application.

Subject to these Terms, lo.cafe Ltda. grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download, install, and use Magic Dock on Mac devices that you own or control, solely for personal or internal business use.

You may not, except where applicable law prohibits a restriction:

• copy, modify, translate, or create derivative works of the software;
• reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive its source code;
• rent, lease, sell, sublicense, distribute, or make the software available to others;
• remove proprietary notices or circumvent security, activation, or technical restrictions; or
• use the Services to interfere with, damage, or gain unauthorized access to systems or data.

Magic Dock includes a 48-hour free trial on each Mac, with every feature. Reinstalling the app or entering another email address does not restart it.

A license, lifetime or monthly, can be active on up to two Macs at a time. You can deactivate a Mac in the app to use the license on another.

An internet connection is required to start the trial, to activate a license and to check it from time to time. Without a connection the app keeps working for a limited period after the last successful check, never beyond the end of the trial or of a paid subscription period.

Payments are processed by Stripe. Because the merchant account is shared with NotchNook, our other app, your card statement and Stripe receipt may show the name NotchNook.

You may request a full refund within 7 days of a purchase by emailing support@getnotchnook.com. The refund goes to the original payment method and ends the corresponding license. Mandatory consumer rights remain unchanged.

A monthly subscription renews until cancelled. To cancel, email support@getnotchnook.com from the address used for the purchase. Cancelling stops future renewals, and access continues until the end of the period already paid. A refund or a payment dispute ends the license.

If you lose your license key, you can ask for it again; it is sent only to the email address used for the purchase.

While it runs, Magic Dock takes the place of the macOS Dock and needs Accessibility access to do so. Some widgets ask macOS for further permissions, such as Calendar, Location or Screen Recording, only when you use them. You can withdraw any permission in System Settings; the features that rely on it then stop working. When Magic Dock quits, the macOS Dock comes back.

Magic Dock is distributed outside the Mac App Store, signed with a Developer ID certificate and notarised by Apple. The only official download is the one published on this website. Copies obtained elsewhere are not ours, are not checked by us, and are not covered by these Terms.

Some widgets show information that comes from others: weather from Open-Meteo, song lyrics from LRCLIB, contribution charts from GitHub, and the music, calendars, files and apps on your Mac. We do not control that information and do not guarantee that it is accurate, complete or available. Names, logos and app icons that belong to others remain the property of their owners.

We may update, modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Services. An update may be required for continued compatibility, security, or operation. We do not promise that a particular feature, theme, widget, version, or integration will remain available.

The Services, including their software, design, themes, artwork, content, logos, names, and other materials, are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Except for the limited license above, these Terms do not give you any ownership interest or other right in the Services or our intellectual property.

Magic Dock, lo.cafe and the related names, logos, themes and artwork are the intellectual property of lo.cafe Ltda. All rights reserved.

If you send us suggestions, ideas, or feedback, you grant us a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free right to use, reproduce, modify, and incorporate that feedback without compensation or obligation to you.

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED AS IS AND AS AVAILABLE. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LO.CAFE LTDA. DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, compatible with every device or macOS version, or free from harmful components.

Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty or right that cannot lawfully be excluded.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LO.CAFE LTDA. WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICES.

Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, lo.cafe Ltda.'s aggregate liability for all claims arising from the Services is limited to the amount you actually paid to lo.cafe Ltda. for the Services during the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. If you paid nothing, lo.cafe Ltda. has no liability, to the maximum extent permitted by law. This limitation does not apply where applicable law prohibits it, including mandatory consumer-protection rules.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, you will indemnify and hold lo.cafe Ltda. harmless from claims, losses, liabilities, and expenses arising from your unlawful use of the Services or breach of these Terms.

These Terms remain in effect while you use the Services. We may suspend or terminate your access if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, created risk for the Services or others, or are required to do so by law. On termination, the license granted in section 3 ends.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Brazil, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be submitted to the courts with jurisdiction at lo.cafe Ltda.'s legal domicile, except where mandatory consumer-protection law provides otherwise.

We may revise these Terms from time to time. The revised Terms will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Your continued use after they take effect constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law.
